Geely and XDMicro Established Joint Innovation Laboratory

On August 20, 2025, Ms. Li Li, the Deputy Director of the Technology Planning Center at Geely Research Institute, and Dr. Li Jinhua, Head of the Optical Laboratory, along with two other colleagues, visited XDMicro, they unveiled the "Geely-XDMicro Joint Innovation Laboratory," marking a new stage of deep collaborative innovation between the two companies in the field of advanced in-vehicle display technology. In this critical period of accelerated penetration of automotive intelligence, it's a milestone for domestic in-vehicle display technology.
Geely Automobile, a leading automaker in China and a global automotive group, is committed to creating an intelligent travel experience that exceeds user expectations. It’s the expertise in vehicle electronic architecture, intelligent cockpit system integration, etc. XDMicro is one of the few enterprises that has core LCoS technology. Its LCoS microdisplay and driver chip is currently the only LCoS chip to successfully passed the global automotive electronic reliability standard AEC-Q100 certification, ushering in a new era of automotive-grade intelligent display technology. The Joint Innovation Laboratory will deeply integrate Geely's strengths in vehicle platform definition and system integration with XDMicro's cutting-edge capabilities in the LCoS display field, break through the core technical difficulties of automotive-grade LCoS displays, and promote their large-scale popularization.
Mr. Felix Chen, Chairman of XDMicro, delivered a speech at the meeting, expressing sincere welcome to Geely. He said, "As a globally leading supplier of LCoS microdisplay solutions, XDMicro will surely leverage its expertise in the field of automotive displays and the advantage of full localization to ensure quality and supply, achieving a win-win through cooperation."
Li Li from Geely said, "We hope that we can leverage the platform of the Joint Innovation Lab to further deepen and expand our cooperation, accelerate technological iteration as soon as possible." Dr. Li Jinhua introduced the direction and preliminary planning of the cooperation between the two parties. Subsequently, the teams from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on further expanding cooperation such as industry innovation based on in-vehicle LCoS display technology applications. Under the witness of representatives from both sides, the "Joint Innovation Lab" was officially unveiled.
This event specially invited Dr. Hiap Ong, a Fellow of the International Information Display Society and an expert in liquid crystal technology, and Dr. Abhishek Kumar Srivastava, Deputy Director of the Display Technology Research Center at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, to attend and fully participate in the unveiling ceremony.
After the unveiling ceremony, the Geely team, visited XDMicro's products display, laboratory, and full-process production line.
